How To Do A Pregnancy Sweep

A membrane sweep is a simple procedure that’susually done by the midwife, at the end of pregnancy, usually at 40 weeks to help stimulatethe production of a hormone, to hopefully encourage women to go into labour naturally. A membrane sweep would involve a vaginal examination, and usually the midwife will perform this and she will gently insert her finger intothe cervix and she will massage the cervix and run her finger around between the cervixand the membranes. Which helps to stimulate the production ofhormones which can help women go into labour naturally.
